A Quick Post... Two New BJ Upton Relics...

Just got out of class, have a doctors appointment (cortisone shot!), then I will be working with my father at his cam grinding shop, then going to work my normal night job. Glad the Phillies extended the Series, and how about Chase Utley??? Wow. No time to post really, but I wanted to put something up. Here are two SWEET relic cards of Rays centerfielder BJ Upton that came courtesy of Joe from the http://cobbandhalladay.blogspot.com/ Cobb and Halladay blog last month. The first card is from my favorite set, 2009 Heritage, a Clubhouse Collection bat relic, card #CC-BU and the second is from the 2008 SP Legendary Cuts set, Destination Stardom Memorabilia, card #DS-BU.
BJ Upton is one of those Dr. Jekyll type players… He’s still only 24 and already has over 500 hits, but after a spectacular season in 2007 when he hit .300/24/82, things have just gone downhill for him. He stills plays a great centerfield and he was third in the league with 42 steals and he did hit for the cycle for the first time in Rays history during the final week of the season, so there is hope and he is still just 24. He wowed the baseball world last year in the ALCS against Boston when he hit .321 with 4 homers and 11 RBI, but it didn’t turn out to be a preview of his 2009 stat line because he hit just .241 with 11 homers. At his age there is still hope and with all the awesome cards I keep stumbling across, I really hope he gets it together! Thanks again Joe, you rock! I still have another 50 or so cards to post that you have sent me. Go Rays! Troll out.

  1. Hi,
I came across your blog recently...really enjoy it! I have a 2009 Upper Deck game jersey BJ Upton card - if you don't already have it & were interested, I'd be more than happy to send it your way. Cheers.
