The Rays have officially been eliminated from the race for the American League East Title. The one thing that they did win was the longest losing streak of the year. They edged out the mighty Kansas City Royals who could only lose 10 games in a row. The Rays have dropped 11 straight. I’ve blamed a lot of this on the bullpen, they have been horrible, but there is plenty of blame to go around. The Rays send 5 everyday players to the All Star game. They were all at the top of the League Leader board in just about every offensive category and now they have completely forgotten how to hit. They have managed just 23 runs over the last 11 games. For those without a calculator, that’s 2.09 runs scored per game. Not good. They just got swept in a doubleheader by the Red Sox and scored a total of 1 freaking run in two games. The Red Sox pitching staff is good, but not that good. The Rays All Stars were a combined 2-14 in the game-two shutout. It is getting embarrassing. These days of losing are supposed to be behind us.
Switching gears to a completely different subject… The quest for Allen and Ginter completion is getting closer and closer. I arranged a trade last week with Lake Effect Cards for the final National Pride card that I need, so that subset is done. I received one single card in the mail today from Rick in Phoenix. That card just happened to be a Ginter SP, card #307 of Hunter Pence. That brings me within 8 cards of finishing this puppy off. 98% complete. With the start of football season, I am sure that means less and less baseball card blogging. I do plan on posting daily whether anyone is reading or not. I will probably not post about football because I don’t know what I am talking about. I do know that Adrian Peterson is a pretty damn good back. Wow. That is it for now. Go Rays! Troll out.

I'll still be reading. I mean with school and football, card blogging will probably drop over at the GSNHOF too. So I guess we're in the same pickle.
ReplyDeleteSo what you're say is that the Orioles have a chance in this 4 game series?
ReplyDeleteRight now I think the Bowie Baysox would stand a chance...Sigh.
